Read This Before Using Microsoft’s “How Old” App.
One of the biggest things to come out of the internet was Microsoft’s How-Old.net application, of which will try to guess your age based on a picture you upload to the service.
However, since the app has gotten that much more popular, it has come to light that the service might be doing things with that photo that you might not agree with. From the fine print of the app on the website, the highlighted content is what’s worth noting:
What this all means, is that the app can not only store your photos, it can also use those photos in promotional materials for the app. They probably won’t use or store your photo, but it basically allows them to use it.
It’s crazy that we are moving forward to a place that we have to be concerned with every photo or link of information that we might upload or digest from the internet. Should we be worried? I think it depends on the situation, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t go uploading anything to anywhere anymore.
